Department of Education
The Department of Education was founded in 1964. Since then the Department has expanded a lot. With its about one hundred staff members the department now is the largest at the Faculty of Social Sciences and one of the largest at the university. The department participates in several different study programmes.

The research, as well as programmes and courses at the department, reflects the multiplicity of education in practice but also the fact that issues to do with education, teaching and upbringing involve different interested parties and areas of interest. The department has a long experience from international work and cooperation, for example with the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US and with a number of institutions in Africa and Asia.
